Seaview Attic Transformation

High above the historic Maine cottage that we helped renovate and restore in projects spanning a decade, there was an attic that had long outlived its purpose. It was vast, undefined, and disconnected from the rest of the home-there was potential, but it would require work to get it right and ensure its cohesion with the rest of the cottage.
We approached the space with reverence for the home's history and a clear vision for modern living. Salvaged windows, saved from another historic house in the area, became the defining architectural gesture, used to divide the room while allowing light and sea views to travel freely.
A compact kitchenette and a thoughtfully reconfigured bath fully transformed the space into a functional retreat, perfect for extended stays or quiet escapes. Vintage elements, including a clawfoot tub and repurposed dresser vanity, anchor the space in authenticity. Deep blues and soft grays mirror the ocean just beyond the windows.
