Living Room with Elevated Heirlooms

Living rooms are often the most neglected spaces in a home-they can be beautiful, but they end up feeling lifeless and unused if the selections and design don't make sense for the people living there. That was exactly the problem in this client's home.

Our clients, a physician and ASL interpreter with two small children, wanted a living room that served for quiet family conversation and hosting small groups from church, but also where larger gatherings felt natural. We infused new energy and warmth that captured the aesthetic our client longed for by adding playful wallpaper, vibrant prints, and an intentional mix of modern furnishings alongside the treasured heirlooms already in the space-including a baby grand piano and an antique hutch.

The contrast of treasured and new brought personality and approachability into the space. Now, the living room invites people in and serves as a genuinely fun place to spend time in.
