Sending you old house love from Maine!

This past week has been a BUSY one! It has been a lot of fun being up here, visiting the construction site at the house each day, trudging through the SNOW (yes, IT SNOWED!!), making big and little decisions of every kind--from paint colors to overall layout to lighitng choices--collaborating with my clients and their builder, and seeing everything taking shape!

This week I wanted to share a little bit of my love for old houses, and talk about the things that give these lovely structures so much character—and how to preserve those special qualities even when you know you want to update and renovate...♥️

It just ISN'T working. It can only get better....RIGHT?

Well, not necessarily.

YOU CAN GO THROUGH A VERY EXPENSIVE RENOVATION, and STILL NOT FIX what is really bothering you about your house.

I just had a conversation with a friend of mine who is at that point...and is considering spending A LOT of money to make her frustrations GO AWAY--but first, I cautioned, let's have a little chat and see if there isn't a better solution...
